I don’t really meta or anything, but I just need to talk about how fascinated I am by Peggy Carter’s fighting style, namely the fact that it is completely fucking brutal.

Peggy Carter doesn’t fight in the graceful and acrobatic and decidedly feminine way Natasha does; Peggy Carter just bulldozes whoever is standing in her way. Peggy throws men through windows and stabs them through the hand to pin them to moving trucks and threatens to kill them for being misogynistic assholes to her friends. She points guns at men standing in front of a whole truck full of explosives. She knocks them unconscious with STAPLERS. 

And none of this is new to the show, either; Peggy has always been this way. In First Avenger she socked the first man to question her authority in the jaw without a second thought; she charged into the final battle against the Red Skull with a machine gun and firing like there was no tomorrow. Hell, she was down with firing at Steve when she thought he was having a fling behind her back.

Peggy Carter is brutally and unapologetically violent in a way that most of the other heroes in Marvel just aren’t, and it she was that way long before she met Steve. It just speaks of so much anger and frustration bottled up inside her that comes out through excessively violent combat and I am thrilled by it.
